"What's your home country like?"

"Ah..well, it was peaceful for a time when I was growing up. My family was nomadic, so we didn't stay at one place for very long. We traveled the country side for years, met some friendly and not-so-friendly people, plants, animal life. It was...one of the happiest times of my life...That is until..."

"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to bring that up!"

"It's okay, Tails. Maybe one day, I'll go back home and visit my brother, Akito. For now though, my place is here in the Knothole Kingdom..Too many bad memories of Furcadia still fresh in my mind."

"I understand. Well, this is your home now, and you're a friend to the Knothole Freedom Fighters. You know we have your back!"

"Thanks...that means a lot.."

Just fyi, Kayla is 4 years younger than Sonic, so she's a bit closer to Tails' age. He's treated her like a little sister and a friend for a while, which she began to develop into a tiny crush for him; it didn't bloom into a serious romantic emotion for him until she turned 20 (She's about 16-17 in the picture).
